Designed by Jeff Levine, Screen Star JNL is a display sans font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Jeff Levine Fonts.
The opening credits to the original (1937) version of “A Star is Born” starring Janet Gaynor and Frederic March was hand lettered in an Art Deco style with rounded terminals that emulated the look of neon signage – alluding to the glitz and glamour of 1930s Hollywood.
Screen Star JNL is the digital revival of that lettering, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.
